Our business start-up mentor role offers a unique and rewarding chance to help clients who are embarking on the exciting journey of starting their own business or self-employment. You could be supporting someone to turn the seed of an idea into a business plan and seeing it through to the end of the first year's trading, or helping a client who is already trading to build their fledgling business into a growing enterprise. It’s a brave step for anyone and our clients especially, as this will be a new beginning for many of them. So, by sharing your knowledge of self-employment, business start-up, being involved in running a business or business management skills, you can offer them encouragement, motivation and a friendly ear. The role is flexible, allowing you to fit the hours in around your own commitments.

We are looking for people who have:
- A solid understanding of how a business works
- Experience of at least one of the following - communications, funding, accounts, marketing, HR, IT, Law, Sales, etc
- Patience and excellent listening skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and communication skill
What impact the opportunity will have
You will add value to the support our staff will provide, who will help clients access what they need to get their idea of the ground.
