CPRE Somerset

Objectives

The English Countryside is under unprecedented threat from development. CPRE (Campaign to Protect Rural England) cares passionately about the countryside and with a branch in every county we have the opportunity to have a significant impact on its future. CPRE Somerset exists to promote the beauty, tranquillity and diversity of rural Somerset.

Activities

CPRE Somerset is an independent charity, although we have strong links to our national office. Our key work includes monitoring planning proposals and making informed comments when developments threaten the character, wildlife or sustainability of our countryside. The branch publishes a newsletter, engages in social media, runs a programme of events, and advises members and the public on countryside issues.
